I jammed with Jimi all over NYC in 1969, too. This bass theme was one vehicle we used . ON my site "Superdreamer, on this page , the top widget has a copy of "NY Free Jazz Theme" which was part of our live recording ("Noah Howard Live at the Village Vanguard") in August of 1972 . Jim makes an appearance at about 2:47 of this noisy set . It seemed like a SPANISH THEME TO ME AS I HAD BASSIST BLOWING THE LINE WHEN i SAT IN AROUND TOWN occasionally IN 1969 . The song named , "NY Jazz Festival Theme", is the same basic bass line as this Jimi Hendrix jam tune . The basic bass line became the musical Theme later of "The NYC Free Jazz Festival " of 1972 , but I never heard anyone else play it other then us.
